The next full-scale production of Chester's famous medieval mystery plays takes place on Cathedral Green in the heart of Chester:
JUNE 26th - JULY 19th 2008
A unique blend of the sacred and secular performed only every five years in this 2,000-year-old walled city, here is a rare chance to witness the entire unfolding of the greatest story ever told.
Iconic Bible stories from Creation with Adam and Eve through Christ's life to the dramatic hell-fire of the Last Judgement, this compelling series of plays from the Old and New Testaments tells the story of mankind in an emotionally rich and powerful drama studded with humour, music and magic.
Chester Mystery Plays: The Second Coming
It is our great pleasure to announce that the Chester Mystery Plays company will be travelling to Liverpool to present a performed concert version of the summer production at the Anglican Cathedral on 10th and 11th October as their unique contribution to Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture celebrations.

Matt Baker, this theatrical spectacular celebrates once again Chester's unique cultural heritage and demonstrates its special place on the world stage.
